INTERCOMMUNITY CANCER CENTERS WELCOMES NEW RADIATION ONCOLOGIST
Dr. Douglas Calvin Joins InterCommunity Cancer Centers’ Radiation Therapy Team

LEESBURG, FL. –
InterCommunity Cancer Centers announced today that Douglas P. Calvin, M.D. has joined its team of radiology oncology experts at its state-of-the-art cancer centers in Leesburg and Lady Lake. Dr. Calvin, board certified in Radiation and Oncology and a Diplomate for the American Board of Radiology, specializes in the treatment of head and neck, breast, prostate and gynecologic cancers and is experienced in high dose rate (HDR) Brachytherapy, 3-D treatment planning, Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image-guided Radiotherapy (IGRT) and Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT) using the Accuray CyberKnife® System.

Prior to his arrival, Dr. Calvin served as a radiation oncologist at Lakewood Ranch Radiation Oncology in Sarasota, FL and Rocky Mountain CyberKnife Center in Boulder, CO, as well as the Founder of the Space Coast Cancer Center in Titusville, FL. Dr. Calvin was Co-Founder of the IMRT Program and Assistant Professor of Interdisciplinary Oncology at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute at the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL.

Dr. Calvin is an active member in major national organizations including the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, American College of Radiation Oncology, American Society of Radiation Oncology, American Association for Cancer Research, American Medical Association, American Brachytherapy Society, CyberKnife Society, and Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Calvin received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, LA. He completed his residency and fellowship in Radiation Oncology at the Department of Radiation and Cellular Oncology at University of Chicago Hospitals in Chicago, IL.
