Julie Sussi, RT (T)
Before working in radiation therapy, Julie worked as a surgical boarding secretary, for a group of urological surgeons. Part of Julie’s role, was working directly with patients who had been recently diagnosed with cancer. She enrolled in Henry Ford’s School of Radiation Therapy in Detroit, Michigan as a result of this new clinical interest. Julie obtained a Bachelors Degree in Health Administration from Spring Arbor College. She also worked as a professor for the Radiation Therapy Program at Baker College in Owosso, Michigan, and at University of Cincinnati, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Julie has worked as both a Staff Radiation Therapist and as a Radiation Therapy Manager in several cities including Flint, Cincinnati, and Pittsburgh. Currently, she is working as Chief Radiation Therapist at InterCommunity Cancer Center, in Leesburg, Lady Lake and Clermont. She has been with Vantage Oncology for one year total after moving to Florida in March 2007.
Julie’s clinical interests include being involved in the start-up of new centers, developing procedures for implementation of new equipment, and educating employees.
“I decided within the first several years of working in therapy that I should look no further for my “life’s profession.” My goal at the end of the day is to assure that every patient I treat in our center receives quality treatment, and leaves with a positive experience.”
