VANTAGE ONCOLOGY INC. COMPLETES UPGRADES TO IMPERIAL VALLEY CANCER CENTER
EL CENTRO, Calif. (January 23, 2006) Vantage Oncology Inc. has completed its upgrades to its recently acquired Vantage Oncology at Imperial Valley Cancer Center. The center will begin offering patients these new services in mid February.
Vantage Oncology, an El Segundo, Calif.-based developer and operator of state-of-the-art radiation oncology centers, has invested over $1.5 million in new radiation treatment equipment and facility upgrades for the center. The center offers therapeutic and diagnostic services including Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) and 16 slice CT Imaging. IMRT is an advanced clinical treatment option that permits precise targeting of radiation to a tumor, sparing critical normal tissues, providing for better outcomes and fewer side effects for patients.
The Center will continue to work with local physicians and providers to offer patients excellent service and care. Jedidiah Monson, M.D. continues to provide full time radiation therapy services at the center. He is a member of the nationally recognized radiation oncology practice, Valley Radiotherapy Associates. Hasnat Ahmed, M.D., who has been with the Center since its inception, will continue to provide hematology and medical oncology services as an independent practitioner. “I look forward to working with Dr. Ahmed to continue providing our cancer patients in the Imperial Valley with the most current technology and services in a comfortable and caring environment,” said Dr. Monson.
