Director of Compliance

The primary role of the Director of Compliance is to ensure that the care delivered at Vantage Oncology affiliated facilities is appropriately documented, coded, and billed and to assist in the implementation and enforcement of the company’s code of conduct and compliance program.  This position is responsible for company-wide coding & documentation compliance and compliance training, as well as accountable for the review and evaluation of compliance through paper and electronic medical record audits (performed on-site or remotely), staff interviews, and investigations. The Director of Compliance will perform audits and review charges for accuracy of code assignments and compliance with applicable guidelines, regulations, and statutes.  This position will prepare detailed and summary reports of findings with recommendations for the prevention of future occurrences. Where deficiencies are noted or improvements possible, the Director of Compliance will be responsible to provide training and follow-up audits to engender corrections and prevent or reduce future occurrences.  The Director of Compliance will assist other personnel in the interpretation of and adherence to billing, coding and documentation standards, and educate company personnel on such standards, including through regular newsletters and focused trainings.

Desired Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor degree and five (5) years of radiation oncology coding and/or auditing experience with certification in coding
or clinical auditing or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Other requirements: 

• Minimum three (3) years experience using, reporting from, and/or auditing records in an oncology electronic medical/health record information system

• Experience in training physicians and non-physician clinical and billing staff in appropriate coding and documentation in accordance with all
applicable regulatory standards

• Demonstrated ability to design auditing and monitoring tools and conduct audits to assess coding and documentation compliance with
applicable regulatory standards

• Experience in documenting and reporting findings, recommendations, actions, and re-audit results

• Up-to-date knowledge of chart auditing principles, HIPAA and HITECH, and Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial reimbursement regulations and criteria
