Vantage Oncology Physics, Inc.

(VOP) is a leading provider of medical physics services. Its primary mission is to assist radiation oncologists in treating patients in accordance with nationally accepted standards. Providing comprehensive services to our affiliated centers around the country, our physicists have developed procedures and techniques that enable physicians and staff to deliver high quality, cost effective treatments. VOPI also provides consultations in the design of radiation oncology departments, shielding design of radiation therapy vaults as well as acceptance testing and commissioning of radiation therapy equipment.

Electronic Medical Record

Vantage is aggressively developing a comprehensive clinical information system in conjunction with a major healthcare equipment and software firm, building on the vast clinical experience and data from its affiliated physician groups. Collection and analysis of clinical practice data, patient self-assessments and ultimately clinical outcomes will be completed on a comprehensive and systematic basis throughout the network of affiliated centers. This system will provide the foundation for comparison of treatment alternatives, demonstrated quality outcomes and as a peer review vehicle.

Clinical Outcomes and Quality Initiatives

Ongoing initiatives in clinical standards, physics, nursing, education and information technology, will create processes, practices and tools to encourage the most effective patient care and distinguish Vantage as a national leader in quality outcomes-based medicine to the community setting. Through the standardized approach to building a comprehensive clinical information system, Vantage has successfully integrated electronic health records with network wide treatment planning systems and published practice guidelines. Ultimately, this will allow the physician leadership to enhance key processes that allow for systematic peer review of practice data, assessing risk factors and promoting patient self-assessments. Vantage’s processes and standardized software systems are designed to combine clinical and financial outcomes with the quality of life assessments in order to identify promulgate and ultimately reward best practices.

Advisory Boards

As part of Vantage’s commitment to advancing state-of-the-art cancer treatments, we are continuously looking to improve quality, treatment guidelines, outcomes and patient care. Vantage is establishing three Advisory Boards, which will actively define and advocate for clinical best practices, outcomes initiatives and technological developments in the radiation oncology and surgical oncology industries.

Physician Operations Board

To offer advice encompassing innovations and improvements in quality, operational processes and the delivery of patient care. This Board will be represented by medical directors from affiliated centers throughout the Vantage network.

Medical Advisory Board

To develop innovative and effective practice guidelines in order to improve outcomes at affiliated centers. This Advisory Group will also assist in identifying and developing key strategies for incorporating sub-specialties at many affiliated centers.

Scientific Advisory Board

Scientific Advisory Board: To evaluate new technology, innovative information delivery systems and biologic scientific advances that can enhance Vantage Oncology’s ability to deliver the best cancer treatment. It will include nationally recognized clinicians in the field of outcomes research, medical oncology, urology, physics and surgical oncology. This Board will be chaired by Samuel Hellman, M.D.
